Ethical responsibility in coaching means that your Coach is committed to prioritizing your safety and well-being within the boundaries of the coaching relationship and in accordance with the law in the governing jurdisdiction.

This means that your Coach has a legal obligation to take reasonable steps to ensure your safety if they believe you are at an immediate risk of harming yourself or others. This obligation supersedes confidentiality.

In such circumstances, the Coach may be required to:

  • Contact emergency services.
  • Contact your designated emergency contact.
  • Take other necessary actions to ensure your safety or the safety of others.

This action will be taken only when the Coach has a reasonable belief that you pose an immediate risk of harm.

It is important to understand that while confidentiality is a cornerstone of the coaching relationship, the safety of individuals takes precedence. This action is taken in compliance with Swedish law and ethical guidelines for professionals.

Your Coach has an ethical responsibility to you during coaching sessions, primarily focused on creating a safe, supportive, and confidential environment for you to explore your goals and challenges. This responsibility is governed by Swedish law and ethical guidelines for coaching professionals.

During coaching sessions, your Coach is committed to:

  • Maintaining confidentiality, except when legally obligated to disclose information to protect yourself or others.
  • Providing professional and ethical coaching services.
  • Acting in accordance with the Coaching Agreement.

Post-Coaching Session Responsibilities:

  • Coaching is not a substitute for therapy or medical advice. Therefore, the Coach is not responsible for managing mental health crises or providing diagnoses.

It is advisable to discuss expectations and boundaries with your Coach to ensure a clear understanding of their role and responsibilities. This will help you feel informed and confident throughout your personal development journey.

What should I do if I am experiencing a mental health crisis?

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, it is essential to seek immediate professional help. A mental health crisis is characterized by intense distress that impairs your ability to cope with daily life or poses a risk to your safety. This may include, but is not limited to, severe anxiety, panic attacks, suicidal thoughts, or other concerning symptoms.

If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts or are in immediate danger to yourself or others, please take the following steps:

  • Contact emergency services immediately
  • Contact a crisis hotline.
  • Go to your nearest emergency room.
  • Reach out to a trusted friend, family member, or mental health professional.

Coaching is not a substitute for professional mental health treatment, and we are not equipped to handle mental health crises. We strongly advise you to seek immediate assistance from qualified healthcare professionals.

Once you have received appropriate professional support and are in a stable condition, coaching can be a valuable complement to ongoing therapy. We can then focus on your personal growth, goal attainment, and empowerment in a safe and supportive environment.

What happens if I need to take a break from coaching?

We understand that life circumstances can sometimes require a break from coaching. Here’s how we handle breaks, depending on the type of coaching service you’ve chosen:

Monthly Subscriptions:

  • You may pause your monthly subscription by providing written notice seven (7) days before your next billing cycle.
  • Upon resuming, your subscription will continue from the next billing cycle.
  • Please note that paused subscription time does not extend the overall subscription period.

Coaching Packages:

  • For 4-week, 8-week, and 12-week packages, we allow pauses of up to 4 weeks with written notice.
  • Pausing the package extends the completion timeframe by the length of the pause.
  • To resume coaching, you must provide written notice at least seven (7) days before your desired resumption date.
  • After a pause occurs, coaching must resume within a total of double the original package length from the original purchase date, including the pause period, or remaining sessions will be forfeited. For example, a 4 week package must resume within 8 total weeks.

General Considerations:

  • All pause requests must be submitted in writing via our contact page.
  • We reserve the right to decline pause requests based on our coaching availability and previous pause history.
  • Consistent with our agreement, unused sessions beyond the maximum length of any package including time paused will be forfeit.
  • It is at the discretion of the coach to continue the existing package or create a new package for clients that return from long pauses.

Important Note: The terms of our Coaching Agreement, specifically regarding cancellation and termination, apply during and after any pause in coaching services. Please review the full agreement for detailed information.
