Firerose is an Australian singer/songwriter. Born Johanna Rose Scholem in 1998, to a professional violinist and medical doctor. She received her education from the Newtown School for Performing Arts. At the age of 19, she moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue a career as a performing artist in the entertainment industry.
She was 22-year-old when she met 46-year-old Billy Ray Cyrus in 2010. At the time, he was filming “Hannah Montana” with his daughter Miley Cyrus and Firerose was auditioning for a part on a lot near the set of the hit Disney television series.
In 2018, she released the songs “Fragile Handling” and “Way Out.” She moved to Nashville where she wrote and produced several songs with Cyrus. The pair released the duet “New Day” in 2021.
At some point, professional boundaries were crossed, and she began a high-profile relationship with Cyrus. In 2022, his second wife Tish filed for a divorce from Cyrus, stating that they had not lived together since 2020. Cyrus married Firerose on October 10, 2023.
Less than a year later, Cyrus filed for divorce from Firerose in May 2024.
