Post-separation abuse refers to the continuation of abusive behaviors after the dissolution of an entrapment-based relationship. The controlling person uses a range of insidious manipulative tactics to perpetuate their campaign of abusive power and control of the victim-survivor after the relationship has ended. Some of the behaviors that characterize post-separation abuse include stalking, harassment, financial abuse, character assassination (smear campaigns), and vexatious litigation.
